1.1 The Chair welcomed Members and members of the public to the meeting.

2       Inquiry into poverty in Wales: Communities First - lessons learnt - evidence session 4: Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children

2.1 The Committee received evidence from:

 

·         Carl Sargeant AM, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children.

·         Jo-Anne Daniels, Director, Communities & Tackling Poverty

·         Ruth Studley, Deputy Director, Communities First Transition

 

2.2 During the session the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children agreed to provide:

·         Details of the process for querying public service boards’ Well-being plans, as outlined in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act;

·         A note of the discussions between the Welsh Government and local authorities, local delivery boards and public service boards on transitional arrangements;

·         A copy of the Transition and Strategy Guidance provided to local authorities;

·         A note on the evaluation of the Communities for Work and Lift programmes, including any available data and the assessment criteria;

·         A note providing further detail on the employability pathway following engagement on the Lift and Communities for Work programmes;

·         A copy of the guidance on the capital asset programme.
